New Delhi . Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that the government is ready to discuss the matter in the backdrop of the Congress’s ruckus in the Rafael case in the last six days. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said in the Lok Sabha, “If the members want the discussion, then government is ready to discuss Rafael and other issues.” “Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, in the Lok Sabha, reiterating the demand of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) said that the government should accept the demand for JPC to decide responsibility for the Rafael matter.
He said that many aspects including the price of the aircraft, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, not getting the contract and the damage to the official treasury are to be investigated and it can be done only through the JPC. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government is ready to discuss Rafael’s case, but as far as the demand for JPC is concerned, after the Supreme Court’s decision, everything is clear now.
Rafael is making a ruckus in the Lok Sabha from the beginning of the winter session of Parliament demanding the formation of the JPC to investigate the case. The proceedings of the House have been continuously interrupted due to the ruckus on Rafael and some other issues. In the light of the Supreme Court verdict on this issue, BJP had demanded apology from Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
