JU professor Suspended for controversial Facebook post on virginity

Kolkata. Jadavpur University has suspended professor Kanak Sarkar by taking action against the objectionable controversial Facebook post on girl’s virginity. University has been removed from the job with immediate effect. At present, he will no longer be able to take any class in University. In a notice issued by the University, it has been said that Professor Kanak Sarkar is freed from the immediate effect of educational work on the recommendation of the Student-Teacher Committee.

It is worth mentioning that a professor of Jadavpur University wrote on his Facebook profile about women’s virginity. During this time, he had many controversial words.

Kanak has been teaching international relations in Jadavpur University for the last 20 years. On this statement, Kanak Sarkar had said, I wrote my personal thoughts. The Supreme Court has withdrawn Section 66 of the IT Act and has given the right to freedom of expression on social media. I have not written anything against any person without evidence .


It is noteworthy that after this incident, students of Jadavpur University started protesting on Tuesday and demanded to sack him while sloganeering against him. Angry students also took out a rally against the professor at Jadavpur University campus.
