- India vs New Zealand at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester on July 9 – 3:00 PM IST
- Australia vs England at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 11 – 3:00 PM IST
Australia and New Zealand reached the World Cup semis for the eighth time in history. They were, in fact, the two finalists of 2015 World Cup. India reached the semis for the third consecutive edition, and seventh overall. Meanwhile, for the hosts, it will be their first semifinal appearance since 1992.
India defeated Sri Lanka in their final league tie on Saturday in Leeds to go on top of the table, temporarily. But their position was assured by South Africa who scripted a clinical consolation win against Australia in their last league match of the 12th edition of the showpiece event. Hence, it is India who will face fourth-placed New Zealand in the first semifinal, while the defending champions will take on the host nation, England, in the second.
